Club Details
Balwearie Gymnastics is an
independent club providing classes for adults and children of
school age. The Club was established in 1977 and is
one of the largest clubs in Scotland.
The Club has expanded over
the last 31 years and currently caters for 290
gymnasts. Classes are run over 5 days using the
facilities of Balwearie High School Community Use,
gymnasium and assembly hall.
Gymnasts from the Club are
represented at both regional and national levels
with gymnasts being selected to train with Fife,
Scotland and most recently, Britain.
All coaches, assistants and
class helpers are heavily committed to the Club and
are continually undergoing coaching qualifications
with the sports governing body, British Gymnastics.
In addition to training, the
Club has adopted the Scottish Gymnastics Association
Child Protection Policy and adheres to their procedures.
The Club is currently working
towards “GymMark” accreditation. This is the mark
of a quality gymnastics club in which Balwearie
Gymnastics aspires to achieve:
“… as a safe, effective
and child friendly club, providing a service in the
community, that children and young people, their
parents/carers, and others with an interest in
gymnastics, can trust…”
