Balwearie Gymnastics was the first club in Scotland to receive the GymMark accredidation.

GymMark is a British Gymnastics club accreditation scheme that recognises

the quality of a club.

GymMark is an excellent resource for Clubs to ensure that the best practice and progressive development is ongoing, resulting in a safe effective forum for children to realise their own potential.

 

 
 

Balwearie Gymnastics is an independent club, hiring facilities from Balwearie High School–Community Use in Kirkcaldy

 

The club organises classes in gymnastics for all abilities and ages of school children:

                            Recreational Gymnastics

                            Competitive gymnastics

   Women’s Artistic Gymnastics

   Schools Gymnastics

 

The Club is affiliated to the British Gymnastics Association and the Scottish Gymnastics Association.

 

Balwearie Gymnastics uses various award schemes during class time. All Children begin by working on basic proficiency award if a child shows particular ability he or she will be given the chance to attend extra classes and, if able to do so, progress to full competition gymnastics.

 

Fully qualified club coaches and assistant coaches teach all children. The club offers opportunities for ex-gymnasts, parents or guardians to lean to teach gymnastics and welcome anyone who wishes to do so. All teaching personnel participate in the BGA coach education programme.

 

The club is responsible for all running costs and purchase of specialist equipment.  Although the club receives grant aid from Fife Council and Sport Tayside & Fife, class fees and fund raising events are necessary to cover most of the clubs costs
